The Google Career Certificates offered at ChattState are REAL classes. These job-ready programs are designed to equip learners with professional-level competencies in high-demand fields. Each program is a combination of virtual and in-person training. The virtual classes are created by Google's experts, designed to prepare you for entry-level jobs in popular & growing tech-based fields.

These virtual classes run on YOUR schedule: you can attend when you want and from wherever you want. ChattState adds a real teacher-- a subject-matter expert-- to the mix, enabling students to get face-to-face information, insider tips, and encouragement from someone who works in the field. Once you graduate, you will receive exclusive access to Google’s nationwide job board. The best part? No previous experience is required to start.

CO.LAB skills accelerator helps people develop skills and credentials to advance their careers.

Complete it at your own pace over this five to ten-week program.

As part of the CO.LAB Skills Accelerator powered by gener8tor, you will receive one-on-one resume building and interview preparation assistance via individualized coaching from a gener8tor career coach. Participants will also have access to weekly webinars such as “How to Project Manage Your Job Search” to supplement their gener8tor Skills curriculum. At the end of the program, all participants will have the opportunity to participate in a Hiring Event where they will be connected to employers actively hiring in addition to long-term job placement support.

Join the Eastgate Library for beginner-friendly computer workshops at the American Job Center!

The Library has partnered with the American Job Center and the Tennessee Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services to offer free computer classes to Tennesseans with disabilities, those in vocational rehabilitation, or any other community members!

DATE CHANGE: Starting February 5, 2025, these workshops will be held on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:00 – 11:00 am in the computer training room at the American Job Center, located at  5600 Brainerd Road Suite A-5, Chattanooga, TN 37411. Please note, class size is limited to 15.

CSL’s small-class settings provide the perfect combination of successful results and FUN.

Group classes are offered both virtually and in-person at various levels during four, 10-week terms each year. They can have between 5-15 students.

These classes are for those ages 14+. Registration for adult classes opens on June 2. Classes start the week of July 7.

Video editing can be intimidating. Canva makes it easier. From recapping an event, content creation, or a professional video introducing yourself to new partners or an organization. Canva video has you covered.

Please bring your own computer. Participants will need a Canva account and a basic understanding of Canva to participate.

We’ll cover the basics—from branding and content strategy to digital tools and audience targeting—in a clear, approachable way. Topics include the buyer’s journey, the 4 Ps of marketing, and how to identify what really resonates with your audience. We’ll also highlight budget-friendly platforms and tools that can help you get started and start putting your ideas into motion. 

It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, build confidence, and walk away with a stronger grasp of how marketing works (and how to make it work for you).

A summer camp focused on construction for rising 8th and 9th grade students who like to build stuff and have fun!

In this super fun three-day camp, you’ll build stuff, you’ll demolish stuff, you’ll learn some basics of construction that you’ll use the rest of your life!  Campers will play games, meet new friends, and get their hands dirty working on cool projects.

Includes breakfast, snacks, lunch, and building materials.

The Workforce Development team of Chattanooga State include our faculty members and leadership team from academic divisions and highly qualified professionals with extensive backgrounds in business, manufacturing and education. We offer seminar, workshop, and certificate programs that meet the specific needs of a business or individual.

Stressing  of effective instruction method, quality content, and flexible scheduling to produce needed results for our clients.  Whether the service required is needs assessment, professional training and certification, or soft skill improvement, all programs are developed and implemented through information gathered and collaboration with each customer.

Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) certificate programs are designed to prepare students for immediate employment in a specialized area or to grow within their present career. Typically, they are two semesters or less in length. They are designed for the student who does not intend to transfer to a an associate or baccalaureate degree program. For those programs requiring state licensure to practice their profession, these programs are designed to prepare graduates for such licensure.

The Tennessee Economic Development Finance Course is a one and a half day course which examines important concepts and techniques related to land development, particularly the development of land for economic development purposes. Topics include developing industrial sites, land use planning, financing tools such as tax increment financing and payments in-lieu of taxes (PILOTs), and incentives and resources to support real estate development.
